Safari Specialist was created with hunters in mind, True hunters, the guys that are willing to get out and work for it, the ones that are willing to go home empty handed on their first trip and come back for another chance at their trophy of a lifetime.
Dalton Bannister and Kolton Moore came together in late 2018 with the idea of bringing an authentic hunting experience back to the hunting industry. With around 150,000 acres of country, hunting options with Safari Specialists are endless.
Kolton’s journey in the hunting world began at a young age on his family's ranch in McCulloch County, Texas, hunting whitetail deer and turkey. Since then, his passion for hunting has grown immensely turning into a career and taking him all over the world. From hunting Aoudad and Elk in West Texas to Tahr and Red Stag in New Zealand, he’s gained a wealth of knowledge and experience about many big game species. Now 28 years old, he resides in Kerrville, TX with his beautiful bride, Casey. He looks forward to sharing the knowledge and experience he’s acquired over the years with you on your next hunting adventure.
Dalton was raised in the hunting business his whole life with his dad guiding hunts in West Texas and the Hill Country. That’s where he found he passion for the outdoors and hunting industry at an early age. This passion has taken him all across the globe in an effort to learn and experience as much as possible in the hunting world and put those experiences and knowledge to work for Safari Specialists clients. He's been guiding full time since 2010 and still has the same passion today for this business as he did as an 18 year old kid. Now 29 years old, he lives in Kerrville, Texas with his wife, Mackensie, where they help run their family ranch. They are expecting their first child this fall that will hopefully have the same passion for the outdoors as they do.
Clint was born and raised in Texas where his father instilled a passion for the outdoors. He spent the early years of his working career guiding hunts throughout the Lonestar State before a 4 year hiatus to Idaho. A growing family and the itch to get back to his roots were calling and Clint is proud to be back home in Texas once again. Clint grew up mostly big game hunting but has found a love for bird hunting in recent years. He especially enjoys chasing upland game with his bird dog, Tilly. Whether it's roaring axis bucks, spring gobblers, West Texas elk or anything in between, Clint is ready to join you on your next hunting adventure.
There are many situations out in the field when a dog can be the difference between successfully harvesting an animal and heading home empty-handed. Our four-legged team members are just as important to our team as the guides, learn more about them below.
My name is Caz, otherwise known as Tony, and I'm a 5 year-old catahoula. My favorite snack is summer sausage or whatever you're willing to feed me. I make a pretty good hand on the blood trail and keep the camp entertained in the meantime.
Tilly is a 2 year old German wirehaired pointer. She spent first year and a half of her life chasing mountain grouse and river bottom pheasant in Eastern Idaho. Although Tilly wasn't born here, she got to Texas as quick as she could. She's now a blood tracker in training and looks forward to chasing native quail in the Lonestar State. Tilly loves popcorn and long walks in the woods.
The old man of the group is an 11 year old jack Russell who’s by far the most laid back and easy going jack Russell you will ever see. Nosler has been by Dalton’s side ever since 2010 and has covered and track animals in every corner of the state of Texas.
Everybody’s favorite little fire ball is a 8 year old hunt terrier who personifies the saying 10ft tall and bullet proof. He’s the smallest of our tracking dogs but don’t tell him that as he will always be the first dog in to grab ahold. Ruger truly lives for his job.
Haze is our youngest tracking dog and Caz’s best friend. Haze is a 2 year old hunt terrier that when he’s not hunting he’s enjoying his time with big friend (Caz) haze is set take over for Nosler when it comes time for him to retire. He has big shoes to fill but is off to a promising start with mentors like Nosler, Caz, and Ruger.
